A pair of small antique pricket candlesticks in a warm gold tone, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Each rises on a turned, knopped baluster stem to a shallow drip dish set with a central spike, onto which a slender taper is impaled in the old ecclesiastical manner, and stands on a domed tripod base with scrolled feet.
Both are cast in the Flemish and Gothic Revival altar style popular across this period, finished in gilt over a pale base metal, most likely spelter rather than solid brass. The gold tone has worn and tarnished across the high points and feet, with no maker's mark to the base. A small, quietly devotional pair, in age-appropriate condition consistent with their years.
