Age of purchase

By placing an order with Aphrodite's Baby, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and legally able to enter into a binding contract.

The nature of vintage & antique pieces

All items sold by Aphrodite's Baby are vintage, antique, second-hand or otherwise pre-loved. By their nature, these pieces are not new and will show varying degrees of age, wear and patina. Each item is photographed and described in detail, including any notable signs of wear or damage we have identified, before listing. We strongly encourage buyers to review listings carefully and to ask any questions before purchasing.

Because of the age of our pieces, they may not meet current manufacturing, safety or material standards applied to newly produced goods. By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept the inherent character and limitations of vintage and antique items.

Intended use

Unless otherwise stated in the listing, all items are sold as decorative objects only. Many of our pieces are sold for their aesthetic, historic or sentimental value and are not intended for everyday functional use. In particular:

  • Glassware, ceramics, silverware and metalware should not be used to serve, prepare or store food or drink unless explicitly described as food-safe.
  • Antique mirrors, frames and painted items may contain materials such as lead, mercury or other substances no longer permitted in modern manufacture. These should be handled with care and kept out of reach of children.
  • Vintage textiles, lace and clothing may have inherent fragility, may not be colourfast, and should be cleaned with appropriate care suitable for delicate aged fabrics.
  • Jewellery and small decorative objects are not suitable for children and may present a choking hazard.

By purchasing, you accept full responsibility for the appropriate use, handling, cleaning and display of any item bought from Aphrodite's Baby.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Samantha Vassiliou and Aphrodite's Baby accept no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss, damage or injury arising from the use, handling, display or misuse of any item purchased. This includes but is not limited to damage to property, allergic reactions, or injury sustained through use of an item in a manner inconsistent with its nature as a vintage or antique object. Nothing in this notice excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under EU or UK consumer law, including your statutory rights regarding goods that are not as described.

Authenticity & dating

Where pieces are described as antique, vintage, or from a particular era, these descriptions are based on our best research and good-faith assessment at the time of listing. We are not certified appraisers and do not provide formal authentication or valuation. Buyers seeking professional authentication should arrange this independently before purchase.

All photography, written content and branding on this website is the property of Aphrodite's Baby and may not be reproduced, copied or used without written permission.

Governing law

This notice and any purchase made through aphroditesbaby.co.uk is governed by the laws of Spain. Nothing in this notice affects the statutory consumer rights of customers in the EU or UK.
